We develop both hardware and software ourselves, and constantly communicate with our users to gather feedback that inspires us to enhance our products.<\/p>\n<p>Our team is united by a shared interest in research, deep engagement in tasks, and a collective drive for excellence \u2014 and we welcome those who share our values and approach to work.<\/p>\n<p>Now we\u2019re looking for a <b>GIS Software Engineer<\/b>\u00a0to join our <b>Geodata Core<\/b> team.<\/p>\n<p><!-- notionvc: 2202e341-c933-4080-ad8d-81b11eee6072 --><\/p>\n<h3>In this role, you will:<!-- notionvc: 90521c8c-01a2-4f58-b83a-6aa594074fb8 --><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Help build and improve our custom Kotlin Multiplatform library for surveying calculations, coordinate systems, and measurements;<\/li>\n<li>Drive the development of core features end-to-end. Work closely with other development teams (mobile, backend, design) to integrate them into our flagship products: Android and iOS mobile apps, and cloud-based applications;<\/li>\n<li>Make a significant impact on our products by doing in-depth research in the application domain \u2014 geodesy, coordinate systems, and surveying workflows;<\/li>\n<li>Work with build tools for cross-compiling native C\/C++ libraries (CMake, Bash), and orchestrate the assembly and distribution of artifacts (Gradle, GitHub Actions\/Packages) across multiple platforms;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the stability and resilience of the CI\/CD pipelines used for automated testing and deployment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Our tech stack:<!-- notionvc: e86ec014-0917-425f-af08-84ba6bc59ff3 --><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Kotlin, Kotlin Multiplatform, Kotlin Native;<\/li>\n<li>Native C\/C++ libraries (PROJ, GDAL), CMake, Bash;<\/li>\n<li>Gradle, GitHub Actions\/Packages;<\/li>\n<li>SQLite, Couchbase.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"notion-enable-hover\" data-token-index=\"0\">Examples of tasks:<\/span><!-- notionvc: 8fa9b2d5-71c5-4309-a523-594e35716a4d --><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and ship a public API for new features for our mobile and cloud teams to build on;<\/li>\n<li>Implement computational geometry algorithms: detecting self-intersecting polygons, subdividing lines and areas, computing intersections;<\/li>\n<li>Implement the math behind field measurements \u2014 least-squares fitting, geodesic calculations on the ellipsoid, compensating coordinates for continental drift, and so on;<\/li>\n<li>Adopt a new native C\/C++ library: cross-compile it and wrap it in a public API, so the same Kotlin code runs across all mobile and cloud platforms;<\/li>\n<li>Add support for a new national coordinate system or geoid model, working out the transformation from official specifications and validating it against reference data;<\/li>\n<li>Implement parsing and writing for a new vector or raster file format, with attention to data correctness, robustness, and error handling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Requirements:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficiency in Kotlin, or in another object-oriented language (Java, C++, Python), with a willingness to work primarily with Kotlin;<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on experience with Unix-based systems (Linux, macOS) and Bash;<\/li>\n<li>Solid knowledge of SQL databases and querying;<\/li>\n<li>Strong foundation in geometry, mathematics, and linear algebra;<\/li>\n<li>Interest in the surveying\/geospatial domain (coordinate systems, geodesy, GIS formats).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Your advantage would be:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with Kotlin Native and\/or Kotlin Multiplatform specifically;<\/li>\n<li>Experience with build systems such as Gradle and CMake;<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Couchbase;<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Git-based workflows for version control and collaboration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What we offer:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Time off<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 20 days off per year, plus 5 public holidays per year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sick leave<\/strong> \u2014 up to 10 days per year, during which your contract payment will remain unchanged.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Flexible start time for working hours<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 We understand that everyone has different schedules, so you can start your workday anytime before 12 PM CET\/CEST.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Work setup<\/strong> \u2014 We provide all the necessary tools and licenses for a comfortable and effective workflow.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Streamlined processes<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Only focused, purposeful meetings and clear workflows, so you can actually get things done.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Growth and development<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 We encourage your professional journey by offering learning opportunities, mentorship, and space to take on new challenges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- notionvc: 49b1bad8-8ad4-4606-abf5-72518790f595 --><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ready to join our team?<\/p>\n<p>Send your application to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:hr@emlid.com\">hr@emlid.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!-- notionvc: 01eb9d34-b658-49c3-855d-13a6c3dd0dbb --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At Emlid, we make modern professional geodetic equipment for highly accurate measurements.
